New book urges emphasis on training, methodology for information technology test practitioners
Testing Business Applications...in a Non-Perfect World by Rene Eduardo Rojas argues that traditional career preparations leave many information technology engineers ill-prepared for real-world challenges

BANGKOK, Thailand (MMD Newswire) February 17, 2010 -- Testing Business Applications...in a Non-Perfect World by Rene Eduardo Rojas offers top practices and methodologies for information technology test practitioners and management.

Rojas argues that the role of testing in software manufacturing falls between two worlds that often collide but instead must coexist: the information technology industry with its permanent and unessential evolution; and the business world, with its insatiable appetite for anything that will create an edge on its competitors. He contends that effective training and methodology is lacking for information technology test practitioners and must be incorporated to enable them to navigate between the extremes of business and technology.

"Test engineers should be given a formation and guide that prepares them for all potentially conflictive aspects of the work rather than theoretical views that are inapplicable or inexistent in reality," Rojas says. "The book offers discussion and perspectives on the complexities of test engineering work in the software manufacturing industry."

Written to serve as a guide for new test engineers, the book features a full overview of the test environment, roles of the various key players, a discussion of basic testing concepts, and closing and reporting projects. The book also features graphs and visual aids to demonstrate technical and professional scenarios that a test engineer is likely to encounter.
