(MMD Newswire) March 4, 2010 -- Joseph B. Woodley is elated to announce his newest publication, ‘WHEN THE PRODIGAL SON BECOMES THE FATHER: Recognizing the Past, Reclaiming the Future'. The real- life, inspirational story follows the life, the decisions and the consequences of those decisions made by Joseph Woodley.
Stemming from his failure to come to terms with the anger and resentment he held toward his absentee father, Joseph turned from his values, his faith in God and the Church, and onto a course of self- destruction which resulted in a broken marriage, womanizing and even going to jail; At the most hopeless place in life he finds true salvation, healing, deliverance and comfort in the arms of the Heavenly Father and in becoming a single- parent himself.

Interwoven throughout the book are frank lessons that include, coming to terms with the past and messages that challenge men to take responsibility as fathers and families to press beyond their present concerns to remain faithful to their relationship with God. It provokes the reader to pause and think before taking action and to act with purpose.

Losing three fingers was the prelude to her writing career... ... |

(MMD Newswire) March 1, 2010 -- Building a Fortune 500 company from scratch was simple for Danny Potter. It only required hard work and brains. But discovering she has an identical twin sister and parents who are the cream of society is another matter. Raised in the mean streets of Chicago by her kidnapper's girlfriend, Danny doesn't do society or touchy-feely, but a killer is determined to eliminate both Danny and her sister and that's a language Danny understands. The assassin is in for a few nasty surprises from Danny's vast arsenal of unique weapons when they enter the playing field.
Austin McKean, a friend of the Townsend family, is suspicious of the newly discovered twin that his International Security firm stumbles upon by accident. Ex-military, Austin is all starch and vinegar and he couldn't have picked a more ill-suited woman to pique his interest if he'd tried. She has a murky past and enough secrets to rival Washington D.C. Intrigue swirls around them as they join forces to protect Danny and her sister while unveiling a mystery killer

From The Author
After spending several months creating Danny, I ended up with a woman who lives life on her own terms, along with Barkley, her one-eyed K-9 dropout companion. It's my opinion that every person who reads the book will wish they could drop all pretense of political correctness and become Danny, if only for a day. While writing Mirror Images, I found myself anticipating what hornets' nest Danny will stir up next and I think anyone reading the book will feel the same. I love quirky characters and Danny and Barkley, along with Austin McKean, captured my heart.
Personal Information: Losing three fingers on my left hand was the prelude to my writing career. Winning a contest in high school should have prompted me to follow my dreams, but life got in the way and a wide assortment of careers followed until what I call "the day" happened.
An accident resulted in losing the three inside fingers of my left hand through the knuckles. After assuring my husband I loved him, I hightailed it to Mama's for six weeks where I received lavish comfort and attention.
Needless to say, Hubby was very happy when I returned home, but while I was at Mama's, an interesting thing happened. After a week at Mom's, boredom set in and I picked up one of her many romances novels lying around the house.
After reading several, I confidently announced to my Mother that I could write one of these and made plans to do so.
Well, eight years and eight manuscripts later, I sold my first novel.
It was harder than it looked.
I have now found my destiny in the mighty pen, or keyboard, and look forward to writing many more novels.
Marketing Information: ISBN 1-60154-625-4 ISBN 13: 9781601546258 Page count: 348

In Conclusion: Life has led me on a merry journey. After an assortment of careers, including teaching karate and modeling, I found the mighty pen was my true friend. Writing is not a choice. The stories bubble up in my head at the most inopportune moments (like during a Sunday morning sermon) and I simply have to put pen to paper. Or rather, fingers to keyboard. I love writing and hope people enjoy my characters and their stories as much as I do.

Author Aviad Meitar describes the Viking-like methods used to compete with rival beverage companies in quest for success in An Unimaginable Journey
KIRYAT ONO, ISRAEL (MMD Newswire) March 1, 2010 -- First-time author Aviad Meitar explains the complex journey he and his team of entrepreneurs took to launch the first successful Pepsi franchise in Romania in the early 1990s in his new book, An Unimaginable Journey. Competing with a powerful and well-established competitor's franchise and launching a new brand in the freshly established market economy of Romania set the stage for an uphill climb to success, according to Meitar.
Fascinated with Viking culture, Meitar took on the task with no knowledge of the beverage industry or Romania using 1000-year-old Viking strategies. "My attack plan mirrored that of the ancient warriors," Meitar said. "I surrounded myself with good battle comrades, used top quality weapons, and concentrated on one target at a time. By the end of the first year of operation, we had four plants in Romania producing our products."
An Unimaginable Journey details the challenges of introducing a new brand in a market that had recently been released from communism. The book describes the journey of Meitar's bottling venture just as much as it describes the journey Romania took as a nation emerging as a new capitalist society. Meitar says that it was the spirit of his team that was most influential in overcoming obstacles and eventually selling the company to the second largest Pepsi bottler in the world.
As stated by Foreword Clarion Reviews, "The journey described by Aviad Meitar is nothing if not intriguing. This well-written and concise eyewitness account of building an American brand in an Eastern European country offers rare insight into how a business can succeed even in the face of the most daunting challenges."
An Unimaginable Journey is available for sale online at Amazon.com, and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
About the Author Aviad Meitar set up the Pepsi business in Romania and oversaw it from inception, through growth, to its ultimate sale to PepsiCo's second largest bottler in the world. From there, Meitar set his sights on Bulgaria. He is currently the chairman of the Pepsi bottling company in Bulgaria. He earned his M.B.A. from Boston University and a law degree from Tel Aviv University. Meitar is married and has three children.

Demystifying Dietary Supplements by Maureen Giuffre helps readers understand the health claims of the dietary supplement and herbal remedy business
ROCKPORT, Maine (MMD Newswire) March 1, 2010 -- Demystifying Dietary Supplements: Making Informed Choices by Maureen Giuffre, who is a registered nurse and recipient of a doctorate in nursing, argues that dietary supplements and herbal remedies can have very dangerous side effects and careful consideration should go into taking them.
"Americans spend billions on dietary supplements and herbal remedies, wasting their money and sometimes ruining their health," Giuffre says. She explains to readers what she believes is the duping of the American consumer done in the name of health. Demystifying Dietary Supplements seeks to give readers the tools to weigh the risks and benefits of products they might be interested in.
Written in everyday language, Giuffre strives to show the vast disparity in the regulations for pharmaceuticals versus those of supplements stating that manufacturers of dietary supplements and herbal remedies do not need to test their products before marketing. These remedies, Giuffre asserts, only come to the attention of the Food and Drug Administration when they have either harmed or killed people. She also points out that the use of supplements can often have disastrous results.
Written to be provocative and entertaining, Demystifying Dietary Supplements aims to show that taking these drugs can mean taking unnecessary chances with health.
Demystifying Dietary Supplements: Making Informed Choices is available for sale online at Amazon.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
About the Author Maureen Giuffre was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Nurse Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor's degree with honors in nursing from the University of Connecticut, her master's degree in nursing from the University of Colorado and her doctorate in nursing from the University of Rochester. A former research editor for The Journal of PeriAnethesia Nursing and Associate Professor at the University of New Hampshire, she now lives on the coast of Maine.

Coyote Reloaded: The Metalithic Myth Motorvates by Yulalona Lopez creates the trickster character of Coyote as a Paleolithic punk in today's world
TALLEVAST, Fla. (MMD Newswire) February 26, 2010 -- American Indian mythic character Coyote is known for surviving, making mischief, and teaching children important life lessons about their culture. In Yulalona Lopez's Coyote Reloaded: The Metalithic Myth Motorvates, Coyote plunges into the modern, industrial world, pointing out human flaws and foibles even as he gets himself into trouble.
In Lopez's Coyote Reloaded, Coyote sets out to save human beings from their own greed and shortcomings. Thoughtless and vulgar, the character of Coyote manages to teach traditional values by violating them. He cheats as he runs for office, confronts the military-industrial complex and exposes the folly of war, and retires to Florida where he terrorizes the young and the old as he showcases lessons on aging.
Lopez has said that she got the idea for the stories while working as the biologist in an intentional community. She noticed that while many children did not love science, they adored stories that were related to science, particularly those of animals causing mischief. The author had many tales about coyotes her mother passed down to her, that she began telling the children. When she ran out of these stories, she began putting Coyote in situations with bankers, nuclear weapons and more to amuse friends and family on topics such as society, avarice and selfishness. Meant to educate as well as to entertain, Coyote Reloaded aims to be a catalyst for positive change and sends a message that humor can be found in the toughest of situations.
Coyote Reloaded: The Metalithic Myth Motorvates is available for sale online at Amazon.com and other channels.
About the Author Yulalona Lopez dropped out of an astrophysics program at Harvard to become an amateur naturalist. She later began investing in commodities near her home in Oregon. This is Lopez's fifth book in the series, Coyote Redivivus.
